Hatzolah is a volunteer Emergency Medical Service organisation specialising in quick first response, aiming to have trained medical volunteers at the scene of an emergency call as quickly as possible.

Information about Hatzolah was recently provided in our Carers’ SPACE newsletter Autumn/Winter 2009. Hatzolah have asked us to make the public aware of the following information:

• Hatzolah’s area of operation is limited to Prestwich and Broughton Park, specifically Scholes Lane/Hilton Lane down Bury New Road, across Great Cheetham Street, northwards to Middleton Road area, down as far as Sheepfoot Lane.

• Hatzola only deals with life threatening or potentially life threatening cases and/or where the patient’s condition might (however small the chance is) lead to the former.

• Hatzola is a wholly independent service, not affiliated to any other organisation.

• In order to avoid a breach of the Laws of Shabbos it is essential, that Hatzola is only called out for life threatening or potentially life threatening situations.
