About the Fed

The Fed (Manchester Jewish Federation) supports the vulnerable within the local community:

We'd like to thank all the people who make our work possible. We could not provide all that we do without our volunteers. We are extremely grateful to the 400+ strong Fed volunteers of all ages who last year gave 13,964 hours of their time to help others.

This year for the Fed

During the last year we've answered a staggering 1,731 telephone requests to our Referral and Advice Worker.

We have seen a dramatic growth in attendances to the Philip J. Davies Centre. People want to be with others in an informal and supportive setting - the centre affords this and its popularity has grown alongside the range of therapeutic groups offered. There have been 3,492 attendances in the last 12 months.

It is important that we are able to support children and their families. The Fed is the only Jewish organisation with projects that actively keep children safe, promoting their well being in their own home. We are committed to championing children's needs and maintaining, if not enhancing social work support. In the last year, over 80 families received 6100 hours of support from Project Smile, giving them a better quality of life.
